Town, county, and corridor pages on this site are built from public data sets. Drive times on those pages are routing estimates between a base and the center of a place, not arrival times.

  • Population and town list: U.S. Census Bureau, Vintage 2024 subcounty population estimates (SUB-EST2024), incorporated places. Every incorporated place in a county within about a two hour estimated drive of a base is included, with a town page or a listing on its county page.
  • Boundaries and land area: U.S. Census Bureau 2023 cartographic boundary files (places and counties) and the 2023 Gazetteer.
  • Interstates, U.S. routes, state routes, and named roads: U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line 2024 primary and secondary roads.
  • Business counts: U.S. Census Bureau County Business Patterns 2022 (transportation and warehousing, truck transportation, warehousing and storage, manufacturing).
  • Industrial land, plants, rail yards, ports, airports, truck stops, and weigh stations: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), Geofabrik extracts dated October 20, 2026. Truck stops are listed only when they carry a truck-stop chain brand or a truck-stop name; weigh stations only when mapped as highway weigh stations next to an interstate.
  • Road miles and drive times to each base: routing estimates from the OSRM demo server on OpenStreetMap data. The base with the shortest estimated drive time is shown as the nearest base.
  • Interstate exit numbers: OpenStreetMap motorway junctions, kept only where the exit sits on one interstate or on interstates that share the roadway.
