Medium duty towing

What this covers

• Box trucks and straight trucks
• Step vans and delivery vans
• Service, utility, and plumbing body trucks
• Landscape and contractor trucks
• Shuttle buses and passenger vans
• Upfitted work trucks with racks, cranes, or tool bodies

Medium duty units are the daily workhorses of local delivery, trades, and service fleets. When one goes down, the cargo, the route, and often a crew go down with it. Give the dispatcher the unit type, approximate weight, whether it is loaded, and where it is parked or stuck.

Businesses that run several units can use one number for all of them through fleet towing.

What to have ready when you call

1. The location: address, or highway, direction, and nearest exit or mile marker.
2. The unit: type, make, and whether it is loaded.
3. Where it needs to go.
4. A phone number where the driver can reach you.

Frequently asked questions

What should I have ready when I call about a box truck?

The location, the destination, the make and model, the gross vehicle weight if you know it, and whether it is loaded.

Can you tow a truck with a service body or crane?

Yes. Let the dispatcher know about the body, rack, or crane so the right equipment is sent.
